Ministry of Public Health honors Al Emadi Hospital for passing the assessment of the “Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiative”

The Ministry of Public Health has honored AL EMADI Hospital for passing the evaluation of the “Patient Safety Friendly Hospital initiative”.
This initiative is a tool to measure the level of patient safety in the hospitals. This tool was developed by the World Health Organization’s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean (WHO-EMRO).
Mrs. Huda Al-Katheeri, Acting Director of Health Care Quality and Patient Safety Department at the Ministry of Public Health, presented the certificates of appreciation and Trophies to Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Emadi, Al Emadi Hospital Chairman, Founder and General Surgery Consultant.
On this occasion, Mrs. Al-Katheeri explained that the Ministry of Public Health aims to achieve the highest international standards for the safety and quality of healthcare services delivered to the population of Qatar. Our vision is to lead the health care quality initiative in Qatar and provide information, education and support to all health care organizations in their quest to provide high quality services to all patients, all the time. Together, we are achieving this vision through our collaboration with local, regional and international organizations in order to implement the latest and safest practices to raise the quality of health care services.
Mrs. Huda thanked the hospital for the excellent results achieved in this evaluation. The leaders and the staff of the hospital showed great commitment, a lot of willingness and intent to benefit from this opportunity and identify areas for improvement. They are genuinely keen to not only be seen as patient safety friendly hospital but also to operate by this principle in everything they do. She added: “We look forward to continuing to work together in all our efforts on quality of health care and patient safety”
Dr. Mohammed Abdullah Al Emadi stressed the importance of the ongoing role of the Ministry of Public Health in improving the health system in the State of Qatar to ensure an integrated health care system that provides high quality healthcare services according to the best international standards. Stressing on the importance of concerted efforts by all, through strong partnerships among the health system, ensuring the keenness of Al Emadi Hospital to participate and support all the activities organized by the ministry, and the support of the hospital, leader and staff, to provide the highest levels of accuracy and dedication to work.
Dr. Al Emadi pointed out that Al Emadi Hospital has achieved a high level of compliance with standards for patient safety and how they met the challenges related to their implementation. He added: “This achievement comes as a tribute to the efforts of the hospital staff in various locations to ensure that the hospital achieves its goals and constantly seeks to improve and develop the health care they provide, which is always in line with the vision set by His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, the Emir of Qatar to contribute in achieving Qatar National Vision 2030 and the National Health Strategy.”
It is worth mentioning here, Al Emadi Hospitals is accredited by the Accreditation Canada International (ACI) for excellence in safety standards, quality of care and services provided according to the highest international standards.
